Gift Idea - DIY Beard Oil
The holidays are in full force and I'm feeling like I'm playing catch-up! While most of my shopping is done (the budget is a bit small this year, as usual), I've been trying to think of what to get my boyfriend. Guy gifts seem so expensive with the gadgets and clothing and shoes and...you get the point. My BF recently started growing out his beard, so I thought why not make him DIY bottle of beard oil in a scent he loves? Keep on keeping on for the recipe, below :)
Beard oil - adapted from GrowABeardNow.com beard oil recipe
Ingredients:
Primary Carrier Oil - jojoba oil, argan oil, hemp seed oil, or another oil of your choice
Essential Oil - sweet orange, eucalyptus, or another scented oil of your choice*
Secondary Carrier Oil - sweet almond oil, apricot oil, grape seed oil, or another oil of your choice
*Feel free to mix various essential oils for a scent that you love!
Tools:
Mini-Funnel
Measuring Cup or small medicine dropper
Glass bottle (with a dropper, if you'd like)
Label of your choice
Instructions:
1. With your medicine dropper, measure out 15mL of your primary carrier oil and add to your measuring cup.
2. Measure 2mL of your essential oil, and add to the oil in your measuring cup. This will add scent to your beard oil.
3. Measure 13 mL of your secondary carrier oil and add to the primary and essential oil mixture in your measuring cup. Using the mini-funnel, slowly pour the mixture into your brown bottle until nearly full, and close tightly. Roll the bottle around in your hand to mix the oils. Add your label and you're all done!
If you're not a DIYer, there are tons of beard oils and balms (if the bearded wonder of your life prefers those instead) for sale on various Etsy shops, here, and here.
